A fresh take on PR and partnerships

Jenny Yrasuegui and Celine Gabriel-Lim co-founded ARC PR in 2010. With Celine’s decade of expertise in public relations for a cosmetics brand, and Jenny’s flair for managing VIP events for a prominent nightlife establishment in the Philippines, starting a PR agency together seemed like the next logical step.
“We felt companies were looking for fresh ideas on how to engage with their target market,” explained Co-Founder and Public Relations Director, Celine.
The idea was born during a successful collaboration for an international brand, and the creative duo quickly realised there was an opportunity to combine their skill sets and create a valuable business.
Over the past six years, Jenny and Celine have grown ARC PR’s clientele base to include more than 150 brands across the Philippines.
Steering the ship
The duo’s daily inspiration comes from seeing the agency grow, building a team and being able to collaborate with different businesses.
Jenny and Celine believe in honesty, integrity, creativity and hard work, and these are the core values that fuel their business.
“I love that the work we do makes a big difference. Whether the client is a huge multi-national or an SME—what we do matters,” says Celine,
Putting everything (and everyone) together
Over the years, as the clientele base grew, the duo found they needed extra pairs of hands. Developing and implementing a structure for the growing team proved to be a huge challenge, and Celine and Jenny were hardly familiar with building a business structure from scratch. From doing everything themselves— writing, printing, financial accounting, event coordinating and running deliveries—they eventually mastered the art of delegation and entrust their new team members with responsibilities that help build and grow the business.
“The challenge isn’t over, our team is still growing,” Celine says. “From a team of two, we are now a team of 40. What helped us overcome these challenges is continuous learning, keeping an open mind to new ideas, and evolving our way of thinking.”
Going through all channels
Celine and Jenny realised that great potential lay in getting clients through Facebook and Instagram. The business got its initial boost through these social media platforms as the duo were able to display their creative work online.
Six years later, ARC PR continues to receive business enquiries through the company’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. “It’s very powerful and we certainly do our best to utilise them to our advantage,” explains Celine.
One step further into the region
2016 will be an exciting year of growth for ARC PR. The company’s main focus is to grow the team, form strategic partnerships and expand across Southeast Asia. Celine and Jenny are already looking forward to new challenges ahead that will strengthen and take the company even further.
They unanimously attribute their success today to resilience. Both women advise aspiring entrepreneurs to never let anybody convince you that you might fail.
As Co-Founder and Managing Director of ARC PR, Jenny offers some sound advice. “Just go for it,” she says. “You will never know what it will be like until you act on it, and mistakes are part of the process.”
Their golden rule is to identify strengths and work with others who can counterbalance your weaknesses. “Maintain good relations with others and always remember to be kind,” says Celine.
